The day has finally arrived. Last day in Vegas... yaaaaay!!!
View from dirty hotel window.
Agenda for the day?? In-N-Out Burger!!!!!!!!
It looked really far away and forbidding because of the highway so I had the brilliant idea of googling the directions there. It turned out that someone else had tried and failed to get there because of the highway. But he succeeded on the second try and posted photo by photo instructions of how to get there.
View along the way of our 20 minute scorching hot walk.
The place was packed!!!! It's so popular because it's only found in western America. I could be wrong but I think I read somewhere that they were the first to have drive throughs.
We did our homework beforehand and discovered that while the menu is deceptively simple, there exists a SECRET MENU where you can customise your order. I stole this from some website online.
Along with the listed single and double, you can add up to four patties to any sandwich. Ask for a three by three or a four by four, and what you get is a triple cheeseburger or quadruple cheeseburger, respectively. They used to accommodate sandwiches larger than 4 x 4 (check out a 100 x 100!), but no longer do.
You can up the flavor by asking for any burger mustard grilled. After cooking the first side, the cook will squirt some mustard onto the top of the patty before flipping it so that it sizzles into the meat on the grill. That said, there are those rare moments in life when all you want to savor is the cheese. Order a grilled cheese, and what you get is a soft toasted In-N-Out bun with two slices of American cheese beautifully melted in between.
An Animal Style burger also includes extra Thousand Island spread, mustard grilled patties, and extra pickles. Animal Style fries,on the other hand, are topped with cheese, spread, and grilled onions.
So we rocked up and asked for doubles mustard-grilled, thinking we were so clever. I also got the other customised item - a neopolitan shake! Well they didn't give us mustard-grilled so we failed but I did get a neo shake so yay.
Fries that were freshly cut onsite... tasteless if you ask me.
Damon's
I hate american cheese so no cheese for me. To be honest, I was very disappointed and didn't even finish it. Again, give me a BK cheeseburger any day of the week.
Neopolitan shake looking like an innocent chocolate shake.
... until I stirred it and it became a hot mess.
Tastes exactly like melted neopolitan ice cream... in a good way.
We spent the rest of the day wandering aimlessly up and down the Strip again. Went to Venetian again.
Wandered into a casino we hadn't been before - Treasure Island... hence the nautical theme. The bike was super cool and custom made for the casino.
So stupid.
Snack at Venetian because Damon had a $10 voucher from his poker tournament.
We joked about doing this 24 hours buffet deal. Afterall, we have all been lectured about having six meals a day. Heheh.
Finally the trip is over. Next up, London!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
