Macarons are the new Cupcakes, people.

Felt like macarons on Saturday so I went and bought a pack from the French cafe in Remuera. There's a macaron craze sweeping through Oz at the moment all thanks to Masterchef and it's rubbing off here in Auckland I think.

I tried stacking them vertically like all good food bloggers do but it didn't work and I smooshed the coffee one. Drats. Left to right : Black cherry, Coffee, Green Tea, Raspberry, Strawberry.

Verdict: I like Tetsuya's better. These are just sickly sweet instead of more-ishly sweet. My favourite was the dark cherry but I'm probably a tad biased since that's my favourite flavour when it comes to sweets. Well, that and lime.
