Fun in the Sun - Gold Coast Part 2

Day 2 saw us waking up early to catch a bus to Helensvale Station where we then caught a train bound for Brisbane City. It was another scorcher of a day.

Typical Gold Coast attire:

The two sisters:

We passed by a town called Loganlea on the way and I had to take a pic of course.. All the major landmarks in that town started with Logan. I saw Logan Road, Logan Hospital, Logan Women's Clinic, Logan's Metalworks, etc.

Wonder how many Logans live here? You should move Logan here, Here!

Walked around the city malls and came across this quaint little tea shop - we found out later on that it's part of a franchise as we saw it in every mall we went to. I bought some balls of jasmine tea that open up into a flower when soaked in hot water.

We decided to have yum cha for lunch - each dish costed $3.80!

I think we had more dishes than shown here. Yum yum.

Walked past this girly shop so I had to take a pic for Viv who loves all things french:

We then jumped on a bus and went to Southbank for a looksie. It was very pretty but the sun was strong so the photos are a bit blurry.

These birds were everywhere.

We came across this Nepalese pavillion:

There was a market there:

We got back to Surfers and went to an italian place for dinner. The interiors were painted like the exterior of some buildings... was pretty cool.

We had Moreton Bay bugs pasta, some pizza and greek salad. It was YUM! I had to pop 2 antihistamines to make sure my allergies to shellfish don't pop up.

Luscious luscious buuuuugs

Pizza with chilli so it had a bit of a bite!

Greens.... meh.

My first of 2 servings:

After dinner, I HAD to wash all that greasiness down with a yoghurt from my favourite place. Obviously.... pomegranate with lychee and mango... I'm a creature of habit, ok?

On Sunday aka the day of lurrrrve V Day, we went mall-ing as usual. I had a baked potato for lunch. It was iffy. It was probably alright but I was full from the 2 pottles of popcorn I ate - nacho flavoured and butterscotch flavoured. YUM.

Niko had KFC - my kind of girl! Her sister let the team down and had boring salad. It wasn't worthy of a pic so I didn't take one.
April's homestay very kindly invited us to her place for dinner that night. She had been cooking since that morning so we were very grateful!

Roast pork

Roast spuds, kumara and pumpkin

Veges

My plate... I didn't overstuffed my face as I was saving room for the dessert...

Apple pie with almonds

MINE

We had to go for a looooooong walk after dinner...... went past Hermes so took a pic for Mel....

Last day in Gold Coast....... I didn't have much to do and the girls left at 11 to go catch their flight in Brisbane. So I decided to give myself a treat and go have a massage to soothe my poor legs'muscles..

Fooling around and took a photo of my arm after my massage. Do you like my tattoo? Before you tell me it looks like a stamp and what a horrible idea that was, it's spray painted on. Shuddup, you know who. I like my new bracelets!

Obviously I HAD to fit in one last yoghurt before I go...

Since no one is with me, I was free to unleash my inner pigginess... so I had a medium. I asked for lychee and mango again but she misheard me and gave me strawberries instead. Oh well, still tasty!

After that, I walked around the block a couple of times and then headed off to the airport. Bye, GC! Sniff... it has been fun.

I was starving by the time we were midair so I ordered a yummy lamb shank and diet coke. But unfortunately it looked nothing like lamb shanks.... more like oily mince... I still finished it off though.

Now on to my loot.....

Lots and lots of choccies... the mini oreos rock! I love regular food that are mini-ised.

Bought lots of cheap stuff - some hairbands thingies for my hair when I grow it out, a laptop bag for Isabella (I name my things, deal with it) and a funky brooch for my jacket

Bought this $20 dress because I was literally melting when i walked around GC in my shorts and singlet.....

On the day that we went to Brisbane, Monica texted me and said she was waiting at her local mall for AH to open up as they had a 50% off sale. So I HAD to go check out AH in Brissy too obviously. Hohoho did I get a bargain or did I get a bargain... New season dress in my size at 50% off and some other accessories at 50% off too.... yay! Photo is a bit blurry because my camera (i haven't named her actually) has gone nutso... Need a new more kickass one for blogging anyway.

Anyway, check out the tea I bought - buddha balls jasmine tea infused with peach:

Pretty huh? didn't taste of any peach though.
