New Toy - Canon Powershot G11

My trusty sidekick, Sony Cybershot T900 has been dying a slow death so I've been on the lookout for a new camera for a while. Something a little bit better than a compact but not as full on as a SLR. So Dad suggested the G11. It's got manual settings so I will have more control but also auto settings for those "Photography for Dummies" moments. Hopefully the end results would be a bit better than the Sony.

*drumroll*........ my preeecious.

Taken with the G11....

I think the one of Mum by Canon looked the best whereas the others looked a bit similar. So I'll have to read the inch thick manual to get a handle on the settings in order to get the optimum results.

Oh and I was watching a HK series and took this shot just for you, Here.... I know how much you loved this dude.

Sydney post coming soon.

May Trip - Wellington

Went to Wellington with Damon to see Joekie and her baby a few weeks ago. Damon the jet-setter has lots of vouchers for Koru Lounge so he very graciously let me be the sad cling-on hehe. It was a 7 am flight so I didn't get to have my usual pre-flight Mackers breakfast.

Food bar at the Lounge:

Seating area:

This was what I had... bit pitiful...

Oh and I scored some freebie magazines for the flight too.. Yay, score! Notice how I picked up the Budget 2010 booklet too. I'm not just a pretty face, you know!!

Ten bucks per person from Wellington Airport to the city. Cheap!

Wellington City is such a pretty place. It has a lot more characteristic that soulless Auckland.

Old Bank Arcade where Damon bought his first grownup coat.... about time is all I can say.

Cupcakes are in vogue everywhere!

We went in search of sustenance while Joekie gets her act together and come find us. We wandered up and down the streets before finding a cafe... phew, disaster averted.

My scrambled eggs with bacon... and a sausage donated by Damon... hoho....

Damon had the big breakfast and half of my breakfast.... oink oink.

Beehive.... *waves* to John Key.

Joekie's baby, Hayley.... she is such a camera wh0re. Loooooves the camera.

By the way, I've declared myself her fashion godmother. She's wearing an outfit that I bought her. So cute!!

Check out her wings! Such an angel.

Such a pro!

Amateur!

Pervert!

Dinner was at a japanese restaurant... first restaurant we walked past because I was starving as usual...

My very rich and buttery ramen. I've never had a ramen before actually. Tis nice.

Damon had his usual. Typical Asian!

More street pics of pretty Wellington....

Hey, BDO is in Wellington too!

My boss went on and on and on and on somemore about this coffee place so I had to get one to see what all the fuss was about.

Large Mocha for only $4.50! It was alright.. nice but didn't exactly rocked my world.

We headed off to Cuba Street for a looksie and food (yes, again).

The famous Bucket Fountain.. I'm such a tourist heheh.

Ended up at a typical Kiwi bakery - Mr Bun.

My picks - club sandwich and a cold pancake with fresh cream.

Then I got distracted by the rows of slices so I got this caramel Louise slice too.

Crazy house numbering system....

Joekie slaving away, cooking us dinner before our flight back to Auckland.

Carbs, carbs and more carbs...

Roast chook looking rude..heheh.

My plate... nomnomnomnom...

And that's it, folks. Short and sweet. Thanks for being such a good host, Joekie. I'll be back in a couple of months' time.
