Everyone Wants A Piece of Moi!

Another true story...

Monica asked Lauren (my cute-as-a-button 4 yr old niece) who is her favourite person in the world, thinking it's a sure bet that it's herself (Monica, not Lauren. Lauren is self-involved but not THAT self-involved.). Can you guess her answer?

*drumroll*

Auntie 22 because she's nice...
Then she pretended to ring me on the phone as I'm coming to visit this weekend.

Hoho in your face, the other 4 not-so-favourite Ee Ees. Bahahaha I win.

Je t'aime, Lauren. Gotta apply the french I learnt at class last night.

Babysitting Skills? Fail!

True story:

Bribed my Sunday School kids with Smiggle stuff yesterday as they've been coming to classes regularly. It's like a cult - the more often you come, the more approval you get. I kid I kid. Jeeez.

Anyhoo, the kids' eyes lit up like Christmas as Smiggle stationery is to kids what crazy high heels are to me. One of them declared - You are the best Sunday School teacher. The other girl nodded along (and why wouldn't she? I really do rock!). Or maaaaybe it's because I bribe them regularly with Smiggle, chippies, lollies and hot chocolates. But that's just a small possibility. Don't judge me! You try keeping 6 10-year-olds under control in a tiny room for 40 minutes.

The newest recruit, a girl I babysit every now and then and one I've known since she was in her Mummy's tummy (drats now I feel old!!) piped up with : "She's the best babysitter too". I was busy backpatting myself so i nearly missed the rest of her sentence..... "she just sits there and play with her phone". Lies!! I also boss them into finishing their dinners. Mwahaha.

Junk, Junk and More Junk

Had a girlie day out with the sisters a few weekends ago and we ended up at Delish Cupcakes over the shore. We settled on Pineapple Lumps and Peanut Butter cupcake. PL was alright.. very pineappley and i can't quite decide if that's a good thing or not. PB was luscious.... mmmm.

Fiona getting impatient with the quantity of photos I was taking of two mere cupcakes..

Closeup...

Bluebird is running a competition right now to see which "interesting" flavour voters will vote as their favourite. Australia had this last year as well and the flavours they had were Caesar Salad, Buttered Popcorn, Coat of Arms (fancy name for BBQ) and Lamb Kebab. I loooooooved Buttered Popcorn. It was like eating popcorn but in chippie form. What's not to love? Sadly, Caesar Salad won. I told Monica to stock up on Buttered Popcorn and the cow didn't. Yes I am still hung up about it, Here.

Anyhoo, OBVIOUSLY i had to try this. So I got all four flavours. Obviously.
First up, Butter Chippin'. If this was meant to be buttered popcorn, I am not impressed. It tasted really spicy for some reason, which I do like. But the flavour definitely did not live up to the name. Drats.

Sunday Roast (The Crispy Bits Left in the Pan)... plain old BBQ. Next!

I hate hate hated Paua Fritters with Lemon Wedges. Oh so kiwiana but urrgh why would I want a fishy aftertaste when I eat potato chippies... yicks.

Cheesey Garlic Bread was ok but not memorable.

Group shot!
All in all, a mediocre attempt at copying the Aussies, Bluebird.

Spring Fever! Busy as a Bee...

I've been doing pilates for the last 12 weeks and I'm officially hooked. I can feel muscles in my upper arms. Yay! But unfortunately, i look nothing like the chick in the photo above. I like it a lot better than yoga which has always made me a bit uncomfortable due to its religious undertones. Here's my schedule for the next month:

Monday: Pilates with not-bad-to-look-at guy instructor
Tuesday: French Class
Wednesday: Pilates - Matwork/Reformer
Thursday: Walk with one minute of running heheh
Friday: Massage
Saturday: Pilates - Matwork and Walk
Sunday: Walk

Also, fitting in a week of Melbourne madness somewhere in between. Which reminds me, Marty, are you able to teach Sunday School for me on the 24th? Might be good to inject a bit of testosterone into my kids' routine....

Andrew, you me and Mel. Two words: Tongariro Crossing.

Out of The Mouths of Babes - Take 1000000th

Logan turned to his mum and declared that he doesn't want a pretty wife as pretty girls are angry and bossy. He continued on to say that Auntie 22 and Auntie Mel are bossy!

He thinks I'm puurrrrreeeetty. Yay. I choose to view the glass as being half full here. So there. He did once said that I'm the angriest person in the whole world. Can't argue with him there. The boy needs discipline!
