Mum's Pet Chickens

Growing up, we've always had pets of some form. Even when we were all crammed in a 3 bedroom apartment with 9 people living there, we had a parrot at one stage and a dog chained to the balcony!!! Animal cruelty is not the point here, peeps.

I remembered us having tiny tiny tortoises (turtles??) and we would pick them up and let them crawl all over our limbs and we would also draw a bath for them .... we may or may not have jumped in with them as well. We also had a guinea pig that was poisoned from the wild weeds we picked off some random road side for it to eat and a row of gynormous aquarium crammed with all kinds of fishes. It goes without saying that we've had countless dogs and cats as well.

Mum's latest thing is rearing chickens. So much so that Isaac has taken to crowing like a chicken when he sees her instead of calling her Popo. Originally, there were only the two in the foreground that you can see but because the cock likes to crow at all hours of the day, Mum went and got the ones in the background. He is a gutless wonder like all our pets so he has been mute since the additions.

Instead of letting chickens do their thing and peck for worms, Mum likes to do the digging herself and give to the chickens... eheheh.

A week or so ago, the cock started making urgent sounds instead of the usual cock-a-doodle-doo so Mum went out to have a look. His wife had her very first teeny tiny egg. She just had a second one yesterday. I am going to need a few more before I can get a decent sized omelette out of them.
